Vale Harold Shillinglaw

Cricket Victoria has received the sad news that Harold Shillinglaw passed away last week aged 88.

Harold Shillinglaw played 3 first class matches for Victoria, all against Tasmania, scoring 88 runs at 17.60 and taking 8 wickets at 20.25. His top score of 48 and best bowling of 3/33 both came in the match at Hobart in December 1953.

Harold played 157 matches for Fitzroy between 1943-44 and 1959-60, scoring 3801 runs at 24.68 and taking 299 wickets at 17.81. Highest of his four centuries was 160* against Richmond in 1951-52, whilst his best bowling was 9/38 against Prahran in 1953-54. He was a member of Fitzroy's premiership team in 1953-54, playing a crucial role in the Lions' reverse outright over Prahran. Harold took 5/50 in Prahran's second innings to turn Fitzroy's fortunes around.

Harold Shillinglaw also played 63 VFL matches for Fitzroy between 1945-1951.
